Commemoration 

 

'My Story'  by Lilly

 

Hi Everyone, My name is Lilly. 

 

  I am ten years old.  I live in Southern California with my Mom and Dad.  I am an only doggie and I kind of like it that way although Mom is talking about me getting a sister.

This is me with my puppies from my very last litter.  I was a breeding dog in Idaho before I came to live in California.  Mommy was looking for a female Bichon between three and six and when she didn't have luck with a Bichon rescue organization, she wrote to Bichon breeders to see if she could get a retired Bichon.  Only one wrote back to her, and that was the Lady I lived with in Idaho.  Mommy knew all about me before my puppies were born, so she had to wait a while to get me, but she says I was worth the wait.  I was pretty well cared for while I lived in Idaho even though I was having babies.  I used a doggy door so I was housebroken and I lived inside in a very big house.

This is me a couple weeks after I came to live in California.  I got spayed in Idaho and had a little problem with the anesthetic.  It leaked out of the IV and I ended up with a bad sore but Mommy made sure my trip to California wasn’t delayed.  I did have to go to the Dr. right away, and I needed surgery to close up the sore.    My teeth needed cleaning, so I had that done too.  I was scared and I didn't feel very good those first few weeks, but Mommy was on vacation from work and she took very good care of me.

 

 

   

Each year on my birthday (June 7th) and the anniversary of me coming to live in California (June 13th), I get a cake and we have a little party.  They are human cakes, but I always get a little piece.  I love living here and Mommy says all the time how lucky she is to have me.  I think I am the lucky one. 

 

Mommy and Daddy take me with them whenever they can and here I am in my car seat.  I love going for car rides and I have gone with them to New Mexico a few times.  It is about 800 miles each way and I am so quiet, they hardly know I am in the car.

 

Here I am in my 2006 Halloween costume.   I don't like wearing clothes, but when I helped give the candy out, the kids really liked seeing me dressed up.

 

 I really don't like having my picture taken, but sometimes I will cooperate for Mommy.  Here I am wearing a scarf she crocheted for herself.

 

 

I love to go for walks if mommy is taking me.  If she takes me I can walk forever.  If anyone else takes me, I am on a mission to go potty then I want to go back home.  Come on Mommy, lets go.
 

Here I am in the big shoe in front of the shoe store in Solvang.  It is a small Danish town a couple hours from our house and it is a very dog friendly town.  I always get to go with Mommy and Daddy and stay with them in the hotel if they stay overnight. 

 

I even get to go wine tasting with them.  I didn't really drink any wine, Mommy just put the glass in my stroller to see what I would do.  I do like to stay in my stroller when we go to Solvang, because the sidewalks are very crowded and I get scared.

Well, friends, all this story telling has made me sleepy.  I think its time for a nap.
