Meet Us!

     Hello!

We are a breed called Bichon Frisé but our mom thinks we behave more like little children in furry white coats than a dog most of the time.  We live in Pennsylvania and we're so happy you stopped here to meet us.  My name is Daisy and this is my brother Willy.  Willy is a pedigree boy and his full name is Darkel's Wild and Wonderful Willy.   My mom keeps correcting me and tells me Willy has a pedigree and came from a good breeder but I like the sounds of pedigree boy.     I'm not a pedigree girl.  I was born in a puppy mill and taken to a pet store where my mom found me on my first day there.   Mom didn't know anything about how doggies were raised and treated in puppy mills until after she got me.  Had my mom not seen me and asked what a Bichon Frisé was, my life might have very different.   I came with some problems that older doggies seem to get.   They discovered I had moderate hip displacia when I was only four months old.  I was on medicine and doing good then I slipped and hurt myself a few years ago so now I have gold beads implanted into my hip sockets and part way up my back.   I had finally learned what fun it was to blitz around without pain and I love my life.   My mom says she loves me just as I am and she wouldn't have me any other way.   We have been taught that some humans value material things in their lives but mom says we are the diamonds and pearls of her life.   We are both pretty quiet little doggies but I am the talker because I'm older and more mature than Willy.  Willy is almost always quiet but boy oh boy, can he play wild at times!   We both love to take walks.   For fun we play tag in our yard and we love playing and digging in dirt.

You may think you recognize us from somewhere because we are dressed in clothes and we must admit, you're probably right.   I love pretty dresses.   I don't like hats but it's hard to convince my mom about that once in a while.   Sometimes she insists I wear a hat and pose for a picture.  I'm never very happy about that but I do try my best to humor her.  Willy likes wearing hats but he prefers to be natural and show his manly hair and body.  He only gets dressed for special occasions or when we go places.  He sure is a handsome boy, don't you agree?

Before I had clothes mom used to buy me lots of pretty collars.   I was always a dainty little girl.   There isn't much I am afraid of except I am so very frightened of thunder storms and fireworks.

I would run for cover every time a storm came or when I thought I heard a firecracker.  I used to shake all over and no medicines seemed to help calm me down.  One of my hiding spots was in a cupboard in our kitchen but I could only hope someone forgot to close the cupboard door when a storm was brewing or I heard the first fireworks.

It was by accident that mom discovered that clothes helped keep me a little calmer during storms and fireworks.  I still get very nervous but the hugging feeling of a dress or outfit seems to make me feel a little bit more secure.

Sometimes it's hard work being a model!   When a new style is ready to go for sale, mom usually has me model the dresses or outfits.

Posing isn't really hard but sometimes I get into some pretty awkward and silly positions and that's work!

A little girl can get tired after posing so I need to take a nap.

I was even a model with my 'Auntie Jenn' on a billboard once!  Mom wanted a picture of me near the billboard and she said 'Smile Daisy'.

This is what she got instead of a smile.  Needless to say, she wasn't too happy at first but she sure did laugh about it afterwards.

My brother doesn't get off so easy either!   He models clothes too!

Mom says for how much and how hard Willy likes to play, he sure can settle himself down and make the perfect boy model.   He is just so handsome, don't you agree?

It's hard work for my brother to sit still in these 'stuffy' tuxedos!

Mom always like to make fun shots of Willy when he is dressed.

So...  He wants to be a cowboy!

Modeling work is a very small part of our life.

We mostly spend our time playing and enjoying ourselves no matter where we are.

Willy is in charge of our adventures.  He seems to know where all the fun is and the right way to get there.

There may be some pretty big obstacles to overcome to reach the destination but Willy manages to get over them without any trouble.

Some adventures become real cliff hangers.

Willy wears the pants and he always rescues me from trouble.

Did you ever hear of the movie 'Driving Miss Daisy'?

Willy is showing off how he can drive but sometimes he gets going too fast and drives me a little crazy.

Sometimes I must take my role as nurse and care for my brother when he gets too rough and tough and finds himself with a 'boo-boo'.

They say something about a little rain must fall....   That's fine with me but I would like to feel the rain drops sometimes too!

I am not happy having to wear this silly rain hat!

After the rain comes the sun and we love just lounging around in our yard sipping on 'tasty dawgs' drinks.

I don't know what the ingredients are but they sure are tasty!

Mom promised she is going to take us to the beach one day soon.  She told us about the fishes in the ocean and how we would probably love playing in the sand.

We're ready to go but I think mom needs to help Willy get his head out of his sand pail first.

I'm going to look for pretty sea shells when I get to the beach.

When we get home, I'll be sure to tell you all about our big adventure at the ocean.

While we wait for our big trip...

Willy will spend his hot afternoons playing on his water toys

         And sipping on cool beverages.

And I'll stay cool in my sundresses and enjoy the pretty flowers.

And have lots of sweet dreams about all the fun my brother and I have had.

See you soon Partner!

Luv,

Daisy & Willy
